This course provides Personal Care Attendants (PCAs) with a comprehensive understanding of universal precautions and infection control in the home care environment. It equips caregivers with the knowledge and skills to protect themselves and their clients through effective infection prevention strategies, including proper hand hygiene, PPE use, cleaning, disinfecting, waste disposal, and exposure incident management.
Learning Objectives:
By completing this course, trainees will:
1. Define universal precautions and understand their importance in home care.
2. Identify infectious agents and their transmission modes.
3. Demonstrate proper hand hygiene, including handwashing and hand sanitizer use.
4. Correctly use and dispose of personal protective equipment (PPE).
